Carmel adjudged Best school at the “IT FEST”

Carmel Convent School was adjudged as the Best school at the “IT FEST” organised by YPS, Mohali on November 22, 2021. Carmel also won the Overall Trophy
The following students won prizes:


Shivasi Raj Vashisht-  Class VI-A : SECOND in Digital Cartoon Making on MS Paint

Ishika and Vanya Singh-  Class XI-A : SECOND in Website Designing

Japman Kaur, Class X; Shaunya Sood, Class VIII; and Ekamjot Kaur, Class XI also participated in the competition.

 

Carmelites Shine at Harvard MUN

Riya Arora of class 11 B and Samaira Guleria of class 11 C participated in the Harvard Model United Nation Conference India 2021, held from 12th August, 2021 to 15th August, 2021 and won best the delegate and the outstanding delegate award respectively.
 

Carmelite Published in the IAHRW International Journal of Social Sciences

The Student President of the Disaster Management Committee, Prisha Kapoor of class XII, wrote a research paper on the topic ‘Dealing with examination stress during Covid-19’ which was published in the IAHRW International Journal of Social Sciences.

Carmelites win prizes at Divisional Library Diwali Competition

A Diya Making Competition was conducted in November by the Divisional Library, Sector – 34 Chandigarh to celebrate the festival of Diwali. Various schools from the Tricity participated in the same.

The following students from our school brought us laurels in the different age groups.

Group A (Class 1 & 2): Lavanya Vashishta: 1B; Vaani: 2A

Group B (Class 3 - 5): Avika Sharma: 3B; Kairava: 4B; Ganya: 4B; Tejaswini: 5A; Amisha Sethi: 5C

Queens Commonwealth Essay Competition

Established in 1883, the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, the world’s oldest international writing competition for schools was held this year on the theme ‘Community in the Commonwealth’. With thousands of young people taking part each year, it is an important way to recognize achievement, elevate youth voices and develop key skills through creative writing.
We are proud to announce that Barkha Singh, of class IX-A, has won the Gold award in this prestigious competition this year. Raiza Goel, of Class X-B, won the Silver Award in the same competition. 

 

TS Central State Library Competition 

T.S Central State Library sector 17 Chandigarh, organized a slogan writing and bookmark-making competition for the residents of the Tricity. Various schools participated in the same.

The following students from our school brought us laurels in both the events:
 

• Book Mark Making- Category A(Age group 3-6 Years):

• Slogan Writing- Category B(Age group 6-10 Years):

• Slogan Writing- Category D(Age group 14-17 Years):

    Sanya Chhabra – Class 12 A- A consolation prize

Collage Making Competition

An online Collage Making Competition was organized on August 10, 2021, by the Divisional Library (South), Sector -34, Chandigarh. The topic was Independence Day
Various schools from the Tricity participated in the same. The following Students from Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh won prizes.

International Hindi Olympiad 2021-2022

International Hindi Olympiad was held in October, 2020. It was conducted by the ‘HINDI VIKAS SANSTHAN, DELHI.”  A huge number of students participated.  The winners were recently declared, and Carmel students among them were:

Chandigarh Literary Society Story Writing Competition

Avika Bhatia, Class VII-C, won the 1st prize in a story writing competition organised by the Chandigarh Literary Society.

Sr Supreeta Awarded EXEMPLARY COVID PANDEMIC EDULEADER by EducationWorld.

On October 8, 2021, Sr Supreeta was felicitated amidst a galaxy of Edu stalwarts at EducationWorld’s inaugural Schools of Eminence event to celebrate the work done by Carmel Convent School, under her leadership, to ease the disrupted education due to Covid and to ensure learning continuity and mental well-being of school children, teachers and staff.

National Gold medals for Carmelite

Khushi Sharma, XII B, won two Gold medals at the 9th Dragon Boat Race National Championship 2021, as member of the D-10 Senior Women State team of Chandigarh for the 200 m race and 2000 m race, conducted from 15th to 18th Nov, 2021, at Chamera Lake, Chamba, in Himachal Pradesh.
Besides, as member of the D-20 team, she won a silver in the 200 m race and a bronze in the
2000 m race.

Mansi Wins Gold Medal 

Mansi Malhotra of Class XII-A won the gold medal in the Spin Masters Table Tennis Tournament, in the U-19 category. The event was held at the Indoor Stadium, Mandi Gobindgarh from 12-14th November 2021.

Kashvi Wins Bronze in Fencing 

Kashvi Garg, Class XI-B, won a bronze medal at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khelo India Open (U-17) Fencing in Patiala

Carmelite wins medal at Chandigarh North District Athletic Championship

Maninder Kaur, Class VIII, won the silver medal in the Ball Throw Event at the Chandigarh North District Athletic Championship 2020-21, held at Sports Complex, Sector 7 B, on November 7, 2021.

Rachita Wins Bronze at National Boxing Championship

Rachita Dudy, Class XII-D, won the bronze medal in the 4th Youth Men & Women’s National Boxing Championship 2021 held from July 18-23, 2021, at Delhi Public School, Sonipat.
